Customer Reviews about Kroger Pharmacy

Note, first: There are a few staff at this pharmacy that are wonderful, in every way. Yet,... Time and time again, others mess up; putting my health at-risk. Time and time again, I shrug it off. As an example (and not even the most serious of the examples) ... When there's a problem (and there often is), do they call to tell me? Nope. Why? No one knows. I have checked to see if I'm on the automated "don't call" list that Krogers put countless people on (without warning us first; and without ever telling us). My number is not on that list. But the computer never calls me and the staff never pick up their PHONE and do it themselves; despite how many times they've assured me they would. There have been more failures of this location's work ethic than I can count. And it has cost me a measure of health and risk, many times. Today: I handed in a generic for androgel. Yesterday: I called my insurance to make sure it would not need a P.A. It does not, if it's the generic. My Dr's office made sure to write me the generic. I handed in the generic prescription. I TOLD them why I had it written as the generic. They put it into the computer and said they'd have it ready. I didn't have time to wait. I came back later in the day. It was not ready (and I am not surprised). At first, they lied to me about why. They said the generic requires P.A. I told them "No, it doesn't. Only the name brand requires a PA. I talked to my insurance yesterday, and my Dr's office confirmed. I told you this earlier.". They said "Well, according to our computer, they denied the generic; saying it needs a P.A.". Then the Pharmacists got on the phone to see if they'd budge for me. I didn't ask him to, but I impressed him on a personal level (several months ago) and (ever since then) he's gone out of his way for me. I waited for about 30 minutes. Eventually "Gini" admitted that the real reason the insurance denied it was that they did not HAVE the generic and tried to submit it as the name brand; which needs a P.A . Hours had gone by, since I first handed it in AND explained the situation to them. They could have called other stores to see who DOES have the generic; but ... if they do that, they are (in that case) only making the generic-level of profit. Hell-to-the-No are they going to just settle for that. They'd rather leave it in the computer as the name brand (not what we agreed to when I dropped it off) AND not call me to warn me. They knew that would cause a further delay of DAYS and they could see in the computer I was (by this point) many days without any version of Testosterone therapy; - which is the result of every day I failed to sufficiently micro-manage and motivate trained medical professionals (including my Dr's office). Crashing from an artificially sustained T-level is harsh. It caused severe anxiety, even worse sleep-deprivation, and eventually ... suicidal ideation. I need those levels back up. It's clearly the responsibility of my care team (every related office; Drs, nurse, Pharmacy, insurance) to make sure they are never the reason why it crashes. But none see it that way, because ethics are optional, in the Land of the Free (to suck). So after sitting around at their pharmacy all this time this evening (while trying to will-power my way past the same panic attack that made it hard for me to go there this time), Gini finally admitted the stunt they pulled (though, she didn't call it a stunt) and then offered to START calling around (6pm, at this point) to see if they can find the generic, so that I might be able to get it at another location tomorrow; -the 2nd thing they should have done when their computer first told them they did not HAVE the generic in-stock. If they had, I might already have the meds I need. (the 1st thing they should have done is tell ME they don't have the generic. I might have had time to go elsewhere for it); -and yet, they're acting like it's a favor to me, if I'd like them to start calling other Krogers.
